About DareDealer.com
DareDealer.com is the property of Brave Geeks Inc. Our mission is to help people who need help in fun, exciting and goofy ways. We are all about small feats for big change! I'm Dennis Consorte and I started this website as a fun way to raise money for charity and in the process to do some wild and crazy stuff and make a few bucks besides. In today's economy, people are buttoning up and when it comes to extra expenses, we're all getting a little tighter. Thousands of good people are losing their jobs every day, people lost their shirts on subprime mortgages and depreciated equity in their homes. Families can't survive on just one income.
One of the first places where people cut their spending is on charity. To make a difference, people need to pitch in and support good causes - finding cures for diseases, helping people in need, saving animals and whatever else. DareDealer.com was built to encourage people to raise money for charity, by enticing you to do something fun, and raise some money for yourself or your organization as well.
The way it works is simple. As a Dare Dealer, you create a free public profile and then browse the site for goofy stunts & athletic feats that people pull. When you find something that you'd actually pay to see - anywhere from $1 or more, make a contribution. When they've collected enough, or when the collection period is over, you can log back in to watch the stunt get performed.
If you're as much of a jackass as I can be, then you'll want to do a dare yourself at some point. Be the dealer! To do a dare, start out by creating a free public profile on DareDealer.com, You'll get a link code that you'll need to market your stunt. Film an intro video and post it on YouTube.com - make sure you include a link to your profile here at DareDealer, as well as some good keywords so people can find it. Let everyone know what you plan to do, your price and where the money goes. You must donate at least 10% to charity, but you get to pocket the rest. We handle sending out donation checks for you.
After you post your vid online, fund your account with at least $10, then donate that money to some other people's dares. We require this so that everyone gets a chance to raise some dough. After that, start promoting your crazy stunt. Put out a MySpace Bulletin, post a link up on your FaceBook or Friendster account, then email all your friends. You can even use our built in contact management system to broadcast your dare to your buddies and invite them to do dares of their own.
When the collection period is over, you have 30 days to complete your task and publish the video on YouTube for verification. You then log in and press a button to let us know your task is complete. We review it and if all looks good, we broadcast it to all our members, cut a check to your selected charity and send you a check for the rest.
If you do not complete your task within 30 days of expiration, your task gets opened up to the public, and other members have 30 days to complete it themselves. All people who successfully complete it on time get to split everything you've collected, so that it goes to their own charities of choice, and pockets.
