Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex

Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex

We have been faithfully serving the Lord and the people of our community 364 days a year for nearly 22 years. We are able to do this because we belong to a wonderful community of caring people who give sacrificially so that people in need can receive the physical, spiritual and emotional support they need. Mission Arlington is more a movement than a strategy, more a spirit than a structure, more like a family than an organization. It’s not about religion, and it is as much about God as it is about people. For these reasons, and so many more, Mission Arlington doesn’t fit into the customary language of church, nor does it fit into the typical category of social work. God has done something amazing here, and He has done it in His own time and in His own way.

EFC Youth - Spring Mission 2010!
Another Spring Break has come and gone, but for some it was one that will never be forgotten! This past week a group of 12 from Emmanuel Fellowship Church served the Lord with Mission Arlington. Our team was made up of 3 children (4 and under), 3 adults, and 6 middle school students. Although our team was on the small side, little did we know God had huge plans for us! Every day, Monday thru Thursday, our team was responsible for leading a Rainbow Express services at two different apartment complexes in the Metroplex. A Rainbow Express service is much like VBS but is taken to the location. There were approximately 1200-1500 other students of all ages who traveled to Mission Arlington to do this same job at other Metroplex locations. Somehow God saw it fit to give our small team one of the largest groups of kids to deal with! Our first day at our afternoon location we had 32 kids. Come day two, we had doubled to 64 kids! As overwhelmed as we felt in the beginning, the blessing received from ministering to this group was enormous! I dont have the attendance sheets to look at to get an exact number, but I know our team was able to lead between 20-30 students & adults to the Lord!!! All glory to God! If that wasnt spectacular enough, we also had two of our team members make the decision to follow Christ as well! It was truly a life transformational week for our team and for many of those we encountered in Arlington. We each have our stories to tell but Im sure we can all ...
