The Community Foundation in Jacksonville: Special Recognition Award
A Special Recognition Award was presented to The Community Foundation in Jacksonville which is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Art Ventures Fund. The fund was developed through a matching grant challenge with the National Endowment for the Arts. The fund, to date, has made grants totaling more than one million dollars to individual artists and small and mid-sized arts organizations. In all 53 grants have been made to emerging arts organizations and 106 grants have been awarded to individual artists.

Virtual Tour of new office space
The Community Foundation in Jacksonville recently relocated to the 3rd floor of the St. Joe's building. Our new address is 245 Riverside Ave., Suite 310 Jacksonville, FL 32202. The offices have two small conference rooms and one large board room that are all multimedia ready. There is also wireless access throughout the office. These features will help make The Community Foundation in Jacksonville a central location for meetings with local leaders. Until you can make it over to see our new offices, enjoy this virtual tour.

The Voices of Project Breakthrough
The Community Foundation is proud to be one of the partners in the Project Breakthrough efforts. In conjunction with OneJax, the Jacksonville Human Rights Commission and the Aspen Institute, we hope to change the story of race in Jacksonville by opening up the dialogue of stuctural racism in our community. This video highlights four community leaders that took part in the first seminar in Jacksonville in November of 2008. It highlights why they think Project Breakthrough is important to Jacksonville, what they learned in the seminar, and what they think it has accomplished.

MAYOR JOHN PEYTON JACKSONVILLE FOUNDATION FOR RECOVERY PLAN - BREAKING NEWS 01-20-2010 Part 3 - americas logistics center - waterways st johns river, river walk Port Speaking of playing to our strengths, thanks to our Port Authority, Jacksonville is poised to become a leader in international trade in the post-Panamax era. It is clear that these opportunities are the most viable way to expand our local economy. Just last Friday the city, the port and private logistics companies met together to begin developing the latest public policy strategies related to securing federal dollars for dredging, highway projects/rail projects to improve connectivity at the port. In addition, the state has already recognized that our seaport is unique among Floridas 14 ports. I look forward to working with our state delegation to leverage this distinction into more state dollars for Jacksonville. These capital projects will position the port for long-term growth in the post-Panamax era and help solidify Jacksonvilles reputation as Americas Logistics Center. While the growth of our port is important to the health of our local economy, it should not come at the expense of our river and other natural resources. The port, the regulatory authorities, our environmental community and my office share in that common goal and understand the importance a healthy river.
