Gosser's Green Brewery Project; PCI-Media Impact Soaps Promote Conservation - CSR Minute 11/30/11
Visit 3blmedia.com for the latest sustainability and CSR headlines. Heineken's Gosser brewery is on track to become the world's first carbon-neutral beer brewing facility. Through its Green Brewery Project, the Gosser brand, Austria's largest, aims to reduce CO2 emissions to zero; reduce natural gas use to zero; and to power the plant through a mix of renewable energy sources including solar and biogas. Gosser has been part of the Heineken Group since 2003, and is a major part of Heineken's goal to make the corporation the world's greenest brewery. PCI-Media Impact is now delivering weekly messages about how to promote conservation to nine million listeners in 16 countries. Media Impact-produced radio soap operas are the vehicle used for explaining serious environmental concerns. In 15 Caribbean countries, listeners tune in twice weekly to hear Callaloo, a radio drama named for the region's soup, serve up episodes of dramatic romance while promoting ecosystem conservation and resource management.
