Eliminating Health Disparities in NM
The New Mexico Center for the Advancement of Research, Engagement, and Science (NM CARES HD) is an NIH-funded "Center of Excellence" at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. The organization is committed to eliminating health disparities in New Mexico. A $7 million NIH grant supports the centers research infrastructure, which is designed to foster research projects targeting health disparities.

11/12/2010 As the safety net community strives to become meaningful users of health information technology (IT), one important technical assistance resource available to the safety net community are the Regional Extension Centers (REC). The purpose of the RECs is to furnish assistance, defined as education, outreach, and technical assistance, to help providers in their geographic service areas select, successfully implement, and meaningfully use certified EHR technology to improve the quality and value of health care. In this month's webinar HRSA is excited to have three REC presenters that work with the Safety Net Community to present on this topic. These speakers will present on how RECs serve safety net providers such as health centers or critical access hospitals, as well as provide technical assistance to help them become meaningful users of health IT.
