Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance; "Wildlife-Friendly Highway Alternatives"
The Wildlife-Friendly Highway Alternatives Project will ensure that the best available science on wildlife-friendly technologies is offered for a major highway expansion project in Teton County - Jackson South. The Jackson South highway expansion currently stands to have long-lasting detrimental impacts on the area's wildlife and natural resources. More traffic and higher speeds will likely lead to more roadkills and decreased driver safety unless wildlife crossings are planned. Funds raised for the Alliance's project will enable us to contract with experts in the field of wildlife-friendly transportation, so that the best possible recommendations and alternatives can be presented during the upcoming design phase of the Jackson South expansion. Resulting wildlife-friendly guidelines could also be used to improve other future road reconstruction in Teton County.
