Houston Astros Name/Logo Change: Ranking 10 Fun Options to Consider
Moving to the American League may not be the only change that the Houston Astros make for the 2012 season. New owner Jim Crane is considering changing the team's name. With the team under new ownership and with them moving to a new league, it does make some sense for the Astros to get a fresh start. The team began its history as the Colt .45's, so this would not be the first change that they ...

Chimney Swift Tower - WG Jones State Forest, Conroe, Tx
This video shows the construction of a Chimney Swift Tower at WG Jones State Forest in Conroe, Texas. The tower was an Eagle Scout project, supported by WG Jones State Forest and the Heartwood Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program. Chimney Swifts are birds specialized for high-speed aerial life. They eat almost one-third of their body weight in flying insects such as mosquitoes, flies, and termites every day. Like many bird species, Chimney Swifts are declining in numbers and need our help. Historically, swifts roosted and nested in hollow trees. Because of losses to their natural nest sites, today, Chimney Swifts rely almost completely on humans for their nesting and roosting structures. Chimneys and towers, such as the one built at WG Jones State Forest, are particularly useful. For more information about Chimney Swifts, visit the Houston Audubon Society website at www.houstonaudubon.org. Click on "Resources" then "Nature Fact Sheets." Also visit www.chimneyswifts.org, a project of the Driftwood Wildlife Association. The books written by Paul and Georgean Kyle provide useful information: Chimney Swifts, America's mysterious birds above the fireplace, and Chimney Swift Towers, new habitat for America's Mysterious birds ... a construction guide. Videography by Ken Kramm: Canon Vixia HF S20 Camcorder. Chimney Swift photography by Don Verser.
