Great River Greening leads and inspires community-based restoration of natural areas and open spaces. Our restoration efforts help preserve natural areas, protect clean air and water, and increase urban residents access to natural areas and sustainable open space. We involve hundreds of volunteers in our projects each year, and have a profound impact on communities and greenspaces that mean so much to the state of Minnesota!

Great River Greening Woodbury Conservation Corridor Event
175 volunteers were out with Great River Greening on Saturday, October 29 to restore the Woodbury Conservation Corridor in Woodbury, MN by helping collect remnant prairie seeds, remove invasive species and build snake hibernacula. The Great River Greening project was made possible with support from the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund and the South Washington Watershed District. On this video, Landscape Ecologist, Torey Christensen and Volunteer Manager, Josh Kriz explain the importance of the project.

Eagle Creek Project
On May 3, 2008, volunteers helped to turn a degraded site at Eagle Creek in Savage, MN into an area that more resembles the Oak Savanna that it once was. With the help of Great River Greening, this project was a huge success!
