Hello Nashville Live with Nashville Symphony
From 80stvthemes.com: The Nashville Symphony Orchestra accompanied the voice of "Hello," Florence Warner, in this piece...6 minutes of full-orchestral music. She's got quite a nose! A good example of the kind of community-oriented programming that is hard to find today. My commentary: there are enough examples of the Hello campaign song on YouTube showing us that there are all sorts of creative lyrices Gari came up with. Yet in this extended version, which has two verses, we hear "working side by side we share the growing pride each time you touch the sky" and then in the next verse we heave "all across the countryside we share the growing pride in everything we do." Another thing. At 5:30, I have a sneaking suspicion that she flubbed the line. I mean, "from where the rivers flow and everyone we know, they're saying Nashville we love you" - come on. How does that even make sense? The previous verse said "from where the rivers flow to where the sunsets go, we're all good neighbors passing by." Can't fault Ms. Warner, though...by this point she had sung this song for probably 100 different markets, each with slightly tweaked lyrics, in a studio, and sheet music in front of her every time...now here she is in front of a crowd, backed up by an orchestra, and singing from memory. She certainly performed the song very well...but I wonder if they just didn't get very good consultation on the lyrics or the dropped that line.
